Doting father Howard invents a quick-drying enamel, and egged on by an avaricious Eve (who has lost her maliciousness but not quite her sense of envy), he sinks his savings and home into a business enterprise with unscrupulous salesman Hal Mosby. Mosby swindles Howard, and the family has to give up the trappings of wealth, but all ends well. In an added Sunday continuity, Eve learns the hazards of getting in a car with a daredevil boy she doesn't know that well. Drake's artwork is top-notch, and his writing skills are improving. ( )
