I'm curious to see how Oliva grows as a character. ( ) This is a light and frothy mystery novel. I liked it enough because finally, a here is a mystery where the dead people are not beautiful sluts who had it coming (hear that, Presumed Innocent? Turning Angel? 400 other crime-fiction-mystery-novels-whose-titles-I-can't-remember?) Finally, a mystery solver who is a slut herself, and is not ashamed, embarassed, or conflicted about it at all. I have to read more of this, even I would have liked a bit more gravity in the story or the telling of it. no reviews | add a review

Greenwich Village is decked with snow and mistletoe in December of 1920. Prohibition may be the law, but the speakeasies are crowded with writers and artists, friends and lovers. In the midst of all this conviviality, poet-sleuth Olivia Brown once again finds herself drawn into murder; this time it is the mysterious death of a young nanny, who is employed by one of Olivia's friends.
