Hoyt (read 9 Aug 2011) This is a non-pretentious account of the Princeton which was lost in the action in the Leyte Gulf on 24 Oct 1944. While some of the writing is odd (sometimes words like Bam are used to tell of an explosion), the account is full of drama, especially the last hours of the ship which saw 108 men lost (but 1361 survived). Anyone with ties to Navy life and ships will be transfixed by the fearful events facing the men on the Princeton on that doleful day. ( ) no reviews | add a review
