Kate Douglas and A.C. Arthur return with another scorching volume in their Claimed by the Mate series featuring two delicious, unforgettable novels in one! In Wild Passions by Kate Douglas, six women-friends closer than sisters-head off to an exclusive mountain resort for a week-long bachelorette getaway, where most of the women just want to know if there are any good men left in the world. There are, and they're the men of Feral Passions, a unique resort located on a private wolf preserve, owned and run by a pack of sexy werewolves who use it as their own personal hunting ground for mates. In Her Perfect Mates, Malec Zenta was part of a loving lycan family until his twin brother's suicide took a piece of his soul. Channing Verdi never knew his parents, but that was fine because at the age of sixteen on the night of the full moon, he realized his purpose. The only pleasure these two betas have managed to find in their life was in the bed with the women they shared. Now, a human woman has entered their lives...a woman who sets their primal instincts on fire, a woman they can't help but stake their claim on...and give her the ultimate pleasure of being with two shifters at once.… (more)

I was invited to review this book but had no idea it was pretty much Erotica even though it's tagged as Romance. It was probably my mistake that I accepted the invite instead of reading up on the book first. The stories have some substance, Wild Passions had a good theme going about women and the problems they face with finding good, credible partners but such blatant eroticism isn't really my cup of tea. In fact I could not read past 1/4 of Her Perfect Mates so I abandoned it, even though Greek Mythology is one of my favorite themes. So I'd give the basic story plotting 4 stars but this genre is really something I am not comfortable reading.

ARC provided in exchange for an honest review. ( )

Having never read books by either of the authors I was unsure what to expect. I like a good shapeshifter romance so when asked by the publisher to review for my honest opinion I gladly agreed. I read about book one of the series online to get a bit of background.

Wild Passions by Kate Douglass takes place at Feral Passions Resort where werewolf males have set up a business to find mates. Women come in to spend a secluded sometimes sexual intense vacation and the men check out the women hoping to find one to keep forever. In this story we find out that two men in the pack have found their forever mate in book one. There are six men left and four find mates while dealing with poachers and running the resort. My guess is that there will be another book in the series for the last two men to find their HEA’s. This was a fun easy to read book. I liked the interaction between the men and women in the book and loved the idea of having the men as wolves show up at night to sleep in the beds with the female guests – kind of like big puppy dogs.

Her Perfect Mates by A. C. Arthur has some mythological entities mentioned along with some that are not known to me to be in the pantheon and a backstory for how werewolves originated that is much different than others I have read. There were a lot of terms mentioned describing groups and peoples and shifters and other things that I believe readers of this author and her shifter series are probably aware of. I felt a little left out at times but though there is a set up for another book to deal with mythological issues as well as at least one more male to find his mater in the Trekas pack I was able to follow and enjoy the story of Malec, Channing and Caroline.

Both stories had explicit steamy elements, interesting characters and were complete and able to stand alone.

I would like to thank Saint Martin’s Press-Swerve and NetGalley for the copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. ( )
