![]() None No current Talk conversations about this book. -I had stopped reading the Skulduggery Pleasant books for a while last year after the eighth, as they were too dark with too much gratuitous violence and not enough plot and interesting things - I decided to try this one, and it was quite a bit better -it seemed there was more plot and more interesting stuff happened and there was less violence for the sake of it, which got boring, it was also less depressing -I liked Valkyrie trying to receive her sisters soul the best I think it was more varied -Omen was also interesting, so was the school - the characters all seem more realistic in this, although not completely so they seem a lot more like actual people, -they don't completely, but that it the style, it is meant to be like that -the effect of everything on Valkyrie was shown well There was lgbtq representation, done decently -representation and diversity in these books often seem half good and half bad -there are also often other dubious things -this probably wasn't intentional but there was a character who was mentioned in about one line and was not important at all who was probably aroace, and another time a character expressed views that were basically typical aphobia you see complained about on the internet, although she was a villain she was a sympathetic one, I don't know I found it interesting -I enjoyed this book enough that I am intereresred in reading more of the others Im suffering In the 12th book of Skulduggery Pleasant Valkyrie goes on a quest to help her sister when suddenly Abyssinia reserfaces to carry out her grand plan. She ends up failing when Skulduggery and Valkyrie come to save the day, initially.... I love Derek Landy's perspective on the book and I love his style in the sensethat there is always a twist at every corner and how he puts his characters in a way that makes the scene go from really serious to very funny. That always puts a fun take on things. I would recommend this book to 12-15 year olds and I think Derek Landy could add some extra detail to make sure that the scene is clear to read no reviews | add a review

The 12th explosive novel in the internationally bestselling Skulduggery Pleasant series, BEDLAM will blow your mind - and change everything... On a desperate journey to recover her sister's lost soul, Valkyrie Cain goes up against the High Sanctuary itself, and there's nothing Skulduggery Pleasant can do to stop her. With Abyssinia's grand plan about to kick off in a night of magic, terror, and bloodshed, it falls to Omen Darkly to save the lives of thousands of innocent people. And as the madness unfolds around him, as hidden enemies step into the light, and as Valkyrie is sucked into a desperate, lawless quest of her own, he has no choice but to become the hero he never really wanted to be -- or die in the attempt.
