Fitzpatrick was the editorial cartoonist for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch for many of its finest years, when it was one of the premier newspapers in the world. These cartoons are from 1935 to 1947. His style was unmatched, and his creativity and compassion for the underdog matched only by Herblock, who came in years later. The cartoons are well-annotated, and include many of local interest. ( )
