Description
Marlene's not like the other humans. They weep while she smiles. They look at us with fear, while she entices me with a come-hither look. I . . . have no idea why such a bold female resonated to a male like me. I am the most reticent of all the sa-khui tribe, a hunter that never expected to have a family of my own. But resonance chooses, and it has chosen her for me. And Marlene is quite determined to seduce me . . . and who can say no to such a woman? Contains mature themes.Tags

I really like Marlene and Zennek and it was awesome to see there past and present stories in this book. I love how Marlene is so bold with Zennek and how Zennek is bashful, but grows more confident when he is with Marlene. Super cute.
Marlene and Zennek.
This is unusual because although we are on book 20 and this couple resonated, or got together quite quickly after the crash and the women received their 'cootie'.
So it's refreshing in a way to go back to the start, to see things from a different perspective.
That said it's not a rehash of events as Marlene was not part of the Georgie/Liz gang welcoming and organising at the start.
She is a positive person and Zenneck is really shy and quiet.
Its not my favourite, I found Marlene quite pushy in her pursuit of Zenneck and that is not my fav choice of heroine style.
I found her a bit annoying at first to be honest, she sees signs in everything and I wondered where the author was going with it.
But when they meet the tribe it show more gets more interesting and it all fits together.
There is a catch up with the other couples as we see glimpses of their early life when they first arrived and a tiny catch up with some as to how they are doing now.
It is told in present day and flashback.
Dual POV.
No intimate scenes with anyone other than the Hero and heroine.
No cheating or ex-drama.
HEA.
If it's your first Blue Barbarian book, it can be read as a standalone, or before the other books but also fits if you read the series in order.

Great
Another great story by Ruby Dixon. It's very sweet and fairly low drama or angst and altogether very enjoyable to read.
