I didn't realize until I had already started this book that I'd read it before. I don't usually reread books, so it's nice when I find one that I don't mind reading twice. This is funny and sweet. ( )

rabck box from bookstogive 11/09, Light and funny. Julian and Callie both want their aunt's house, only they need to find the will first. Julian is very uptight, regimented and corporate, and Callie is the exact opposite. Add in one St Bernard that thinks he's human and all sorts of things occur. ( )

Aunt Maudie has passed away and hidden her will. Without the will no one knows who has been left Willow's End, a very large house in much need of repairs. The current residents are Callie Marcus and her two hundred pound St. Bernard and when Julian Lord arrives he can't believe the damage that has been done to the house nor that Aunt Maudie has them on a wild goose chase. Little does Julian know that Aunt Maudie has done more than just hide her will. As the search continues Callie and Julian re-identify their priorities and each other.

Where There's a Will started out strong and interesting but by chapter three the story was already starting to feel a little weak. The characters lack real development so you never feel close to either one and the big will hunt turns into three egg Easter egg hunt that makes you wonder if Callie and Julian needed glasses or that the Willow's End was bigger than Henry VIII's Hampton Court Palace. Overall, pretty disappointing. ( )

Book description
"What do you mean, she hid the will?"

Handsome efficiency expert Julian—Mr. I've-got-a-system—Lord lived and breathed logic. Unfortunately, the situation at Willow's End following his beloved Aunt Maudie's death was anything but logical.

His ex-stepsister Callie was Ms. Disorganization herself. A couple of juvenile delinquents and a crazed electrician were tearing down the walls. And Brutus, Maudie's two-hundred-pound Saint Bernard, thought he was human. Callie did, too.

Then Julian learned Maudie had hidden her will in a posthumous matchmaking attempt, and realized logic didn't stand a chance. Still, when he found himself falling in love with Callie, he wondered if Maudie was really so crazy after all.
