In many ways, books are like wine--and John McPhee just appeals to my palate. Smooth, comfortable, a bit of a stretch but not too challenging. Since I especially enjoy stories about people, this one spoke to me--and I'm on a Thomas Hoving kick also, so the first profile really spoke to me. ( )
