If you're looking for a fun series to read with a touch of mystery and quirky characters than check out author Steve Higgs. This book stars Patricia Fisher as a middle-aged wife who catches her husband with her best friend; and then takes all their money and buys a trip on a cruise line. She ends up with the best room on the ship complete with a butler and her own personal fitness instructor and a mystery to solve when she’s accused of murder. Fast paced, funny and a bit dangerous. ( ) I love that Patricia Fisher is an overweight 52 year old dowdy protagonist of this cruise series. Not sure the author has ever been on a cruise as there are some flaws, but it certainly is a soft, fun read. Patricia learns that her best friend and husband are having an affair. She goes home, transfers all of their money into her personal account, packs her car and heads for Southampton, England. There is only one cabin left which is a suite, complete with a butler. Side note:I could do without his orientation. Mayhem and Murder soon follow and Patricia nearly ends up in jail before she solves the murder mystery. Steve Higgs has another winner! Laugh yourself silly while glued to the story and the suspense. Incredibly funny dialog with characters who truly are. Plot revolves around Mrs Fisher, a fiftysomething ordinary lady with a not unheard of problem. But her response to that problem is to book an around the world cruise in the finest suite on the grandest cruise ship. She even gets her very own butler! But the next morning it's all gone horribly wrong and she is accused of murder and has to solve it against all odds. Great fun! Stevie Zimmerman is fantastic as the narrator who manages the equivalent of a straight face! no reviews | add a review
