1278. A Short History of Switzerland, by E. Bonjour, H. S. Offler and G. R. Potter (14 July 1974) This was read as part of the fallout from a trip the previous month which included a bit of time in Switzerland. I found the book pretty informative up to about 1848, but after that it drifted off into commentary. The last war in Switzerland was the Sonderbund War, a civil war that lasted 25 days in 1847. I concluded Switzerland would be an enjoyable place to live. ( )
