Book description

The trial of Dr. John Bodkin Adams took place at the Old Bailey in 1957. Well over 100 of his elderly patients had died in questionable circumstances and many of these had left him bequests in their wills. He was acquitted of murder, though later convicted of various charges including forgery of prescriptions. Sybille Bedford attended the Old Bailey trial, and her eye-witness account is a classic of true-crime reporting.
