I got this chiefly because I like Paul's mystery stories, but I think it is worth reading for its own sake as a very vivid acount of one small town's experience of the war. One in Mr. Paul's series: "Items on the Grand Account", this one covers his reminiscences of the early 1930s when he lived in Santa Eulalia Del Rio, Spain. There's some real interesting stuff in here about life in Spain at the time, about the terror of fascism and about the geography of the region as well. I like Mr. Paul's style and he seems like someone I would enjoy having dinner with. no reviews | add a review
