Longer book more suited to the beginning of storytime. Beautiful art. Highly relatable for children with anxiety about parents who are gone for work or some such. Good for themes like: owls, nocturnal animals, birds, and emotions (specifically worry/fear). ( )

Three owl babies woke up to find their mother not there. She didn't come home for a couple of days and they were very worried. They thought that she left them only to be surprised that she did come back. The mother assured the little ones that she will always come back. This book is great for toddlers to pre school aged children. This book offers the gentle promise that children need that Mommy will come home. ( )

This is the story of three baby owls who become concerned when they wake up and find their mother gone. The star is Bill, the smallest baby owl, who is just so cute I get a bit emotional. ( )

Owl Babies
Summary: "Owl Babies" by Martin Waddell is a book about three owl babies who wake up and can't find their mom. Two of the owl babies are okay with their mom being gone and just wonder where she went, but one owl baby really wants to find his mom. At the end of the story, the owl mom comes back to the nest and all three owl babies are happy.
Personal Reaction: This is a really good book. It's a really cute book. I enjoyed it and I know that kids will.
Classroom Extension Ideas:
1.Teach the students about owls.
2. I would have them color owl babies.
