How many of us get to not only meet our childhood hero but also have personal training from him? This Christmas finds Ronaldo, our beloved reindeer cadet, at the North Pole. He is attending the workshop arranged by none other than Vixen Pederson, Santa’s chief reindeer. Equal parts nervous and excited, how will he fare in the competitive reindeer race?

Ronaldo: The Vixen Pederson Workshop is the fourth book of Ronaldo the Reindeer series by Maxine Sylvester. Like the previous three books, this one also contains an engaging storyline with humorous incidents strewn into it. The writing style is simple, suitable for the target audience- children aged seven to nine years. Sylvester sure knows how to constantly hold the attention of the readers! Compared to the previous books, this one seemed to contain several new words that will help to enrich the vocabulary of the children. The funny moments will make them laugh heartily and help them appreciate the humor in everyday life. The mind-blowing illustrations of the characters catch their emotions accurately. The readers cannot help smiling at their adorable expressions. Kudos to the author for such perfect illustrations!

Sylvester’s books always contain some significant moral lessons. Here also, Ronaldo learns how to be a part of a team. Putting the team’s requirements above his own desires, helping the team members, and accepting the outcomes with good spirit bring out his leadership qualities and sportsmanship. I loved to see him in such a role! Sylvester made him a character whom the young readers can look up to! ( )
