Janet is a self sufficient young lady, determined to not let the people around her influence her life. But that is not always easy, since there are quite some people claiming her attention, not to mention her affection.
Eventually she softens, realizing that even a hard case like herself can't live her life without love and affection.
This has to be my absolutely fav Honor Arundel!
Yes, I can relate to Janet, being just as headstrong as she is,
but like her I had to give in to the people that claimed her commitment.
I'm sorry that Mrs. Arundel was a mere human; had she lived on forever I could have indulged in so much more of her insightfulness!! ( )
