First rate, and highly recommended analysis of how one masters the "art" of teaching.

Advice to the scholarly on how to teach. A bit dated in some respects (it was written in 1950, and the assumption that the teacher and pupil or student will be male is, to say the least, old-fashioned), but the advice is sound, and the perspective both humanistic and humane. ( )

This book is well-worth reading for educators especially. Although, I believe it also has something to say to everyone for we are all teachers in some way. Thus, we carry a heavy responsibility for we teach others whether we intend to or not. If you can't spare the time to read this short book. I would skip to the last hundred pages for they are particularly applicable for everyday living. ( )

A very fine book on a noble profession - this is a classic for those who relish the mind. ( )
