I really liked this arc. The Runaways have to vacate their home and find themselves at the doorstep of Doc Justice, an old hero looking for a team. Karolina, Nico, Molly, Chase and Victor immediately took to being the new J-Team, but Gert feels that something is wrong.

Gert found her new place amongst the Runaways that seem to have moved on without her, cementing her as a thoughtful and considerate leader that can act when necessary, which has felt a long time coming.

One cute scene I really loved was Gib, the young god that joined the ranks of the Runaways recently, has been starving without the souls of sacrifices to feed him. Rufus, Molly's telepathic bow-tied cat, and Old Lace, everyone's favourite dinosaur team member, bring Gib the bodies of the animals they've caught for dinner, feeding him just enough to sustain him.

Doc Justice was a great 'too good to be true' villain, his mask slipping slowly, as we all knew it would. I did very much like that Matthew was revealed to be Doc Justice's son. I like that each arc features someone deviating from the plan their parent(s) set for them as it always manages to bring home the core tenet of the entire series. ( )

Karolina, continuing to use her powers to help people, has caught the attention of LA superhero, Doctor Justice. When the Runaways need a new place to stay, they accept Doctor Justice’s offer of accommodation.

The previous volume had more scenes which stood out to me as memorable or quotable, but this volume had a strong, complete story arc and that was really satisfying! As is the rather pointed commentary about being a superhero.

Looking forward to volume 6. ( )

The title, while a fantastic pun, is too much of a spoiler (and for a twist that I'd likely suspect from the get-go even without this hint), and should have been used as a chapter title towards the collection's end instead. The tagline on the back of the book, "Runaways No More", would have been a superior choice, as this book is all about the Runaways now fighting crime as a true superhero team and finally finding a home -- or did they? Having been buffeted by the tides and wind for the longest time, the Runaways decide to choose a course and try the costumed superhero thang. Results are to be expected, but it's a fun ride with Rowell's clever dialogue and little twists and fine art from Andrés Genolet and Kris Anka. ( )
