I have very mixed feelings about The Mindf*ck Series. It is an extremely compelling and addicting story, but it isn't perfect. Many aspects are over the top and melodramatic, making it difficult to connect with the characters. The on-page description of violence escalates throughout the series to the point of being very disturbing to read. Although it isn't much of a challenge to empathize with Lana's and Jake's plight, the ease with which Lana tortures her targets makes it difficult to be sympathetic. Also, the romance plot between Lana and Logan is fraught with problems as their relationship blooms much too quickly and seems implausible, especially considering how little they know about each other. Overall, however, The Mindf*ck Series is a riveting story that can't really be called fun, but does keep the reader enthralled from beginning to end. (
