After an onslaught of new characters who haven't contributed much of anything to the story, Komi's newest friend, Rumiko Manbagi, has an interesting personality and problems and could actually upset the status quo if a little crush hinted at continues to develop. Promising. ( )

Refreshing volume with the same foolishness you’d come to expect from this series! A new schoolyear and a slightly friendlier and more talkative Komi is here. I keep saying this, but some of Komi’s friends are a bit strange. The gyaru girl was about to irk me at first with her slang, but she turned out all right. I was gonna scream if she said, “this friendship hit different.”

Anyway, I loved seeing the reverse dynamic between Komi’s brother and his own version of Tadano. While Komi is quiet and wants to make friends, her brother is anti-social on purpose. I hope to see those two again.
