I thought I understood power. My parents taught me that magic attracts equal danger, and everything I've seen since becoming a demon contractor confirms it. I've witnessed how power twists and corrupts-and I've tasted power no human should wield. I thought I knew greed. Ambition and avarice drove my family into hiding. My parents died for someone else's greed. I've never hunted anything in my life, but now I'm hunting their killer-with my demon's help. I thought I'd seen evil. But with each step closer to my parents' murderer, I'm uncovering a different sort of evil, piece by hidden piece. I've stumbled into an insidious web that silently, secretly ensnares everything it touches. My demon and I came as the hunters . . . . . . but I think we might be the prey.… (more)

Series Info/Source: This is the third book in the Guild Codex: Demonized. I borrowed this book on my Kindle through Kindle Unlimited.

Story (5/5): Zylas and Robin are continuing to hunt down Claude and trying to find a way to get Zylas home. It’s a very intense and action packed story that I completely loved. We get to see new demons and new evil mages. I love that Ezra comes into the story as well. This story is woven more and more tightly with the Guild Codex: Spellbound series, so I would definitely recommend reading these series in the order suggested by the author. I think the only thing I wasn’t crazy about was how the first few chapters recapped the events in the last Guild Codex: Spellbound book but from Robin’s POV.

Characters (5/5): The characters are the bread and butter of this series, they are amazing. I enjoy Zylas and Robin loads more than I enjoy any other character in this world. The push and pull between them is amazing and I also enjoyed that there was a bit of romance in this one as well. The chemistry between Robin and Zylas is amazing and I love watching Zylas learn about the world around him. As a bonus Ezra is in the story a lot too.

Setting (4/5): This book mostly takes place in Vancouver again which was fine. The setting really isn’t the point of these stories.

Writing/Drawing Style (5/5): I am a huge Marie fan-girl at this point, so not much to say here that I haven’t said a million times before. Marie does an amazing job creating a fast-paced and highly entertaining story. The characterization and action is amazing. The witty dialogue and humor will make you laugh out loud at times. It’s a very well balanced blend of magic, action, romance, mystery, and humor.

My Summary (5/5): Overall this was just an amazing book, I have loved all of the Guild Codex books but this one was by far my favorite across all the Guild Codex series. It is incredibly fast-paced and fun and I am a huge fan!!! I can’t believe there’s only one more book in the Guild Codex: Demonized...I absolutely can’t wait to read it! ( )

Hunting Fiends for the Ill-Equipped
Guild Codex: Demonized, Book 3
By: Annette Marie
Narrated by: Cris Dukehart
Love this series! Robin and her hot demon get closer still. She also learns more about him and her ancestor's past. She also has to make a deal that she may later regret. Lots of action, suspense, some romance, and giggles sprinkled in there too.
Great narration! ( )

Book source ~ Kindle Unlimited

Robin Page is a demon contractor, but she and her demon, Zylas, have an unusual deal. He protects her and she makes him baked goods. Necessity threw them together, but now they work in tandem to find a way to send Zylas home to his world. Every step they advance though they are knocked back by those who seek power any way they can get it. The closer they get to the answers they need the more dangerous it becomes for them. They need allies and they need them fast. It’s a good thing Robin belongs to the Crow & Hammer guild. Because she and Zylas are going to need her guild mates and their skills before this thing is done.

I love this series and it only gets better with each book. Robin and Zylas are a great team and as their relationship deepens it’s been fun watching Robin squirm regarding her attraction to a demon. Mmmm...taboo love is the best kind to watch when it forms.

Like the books in its sister series (Guild Codex: Spellbound), this fast-paced action-filled adventure is full of great dialogue, humor, magic, mystery, danger, and awesome characters. And a hot demon. Because Zylas is nommy. Mmmm mmmm mmmmmm. ( )
