Phil Farrand's volume II guide came about primarily because Star Trek: The Next Generation extended for one more season than originally planned. So this volume begins with an analysis of the seventh and final season followed by brand new nitpicking for the first six seasons, many of them fan submissions. Also included is a review of the first TNG movie, Star Trek: Generations.

If you read both volumes thoroughly enough, amongst the endless nits, you'll uncover sincere tributes to the show's greatest moments. These are subtle tips of the hat to one of TV's most enduring legacies. ( )
