Wilbur's tusks hurt but he doesn't want to go to the dentist. A visit to grandpa's soon changes his mind though, and he learns just how important brushing his tusks really is.

Cute, simple story to share with little ones that highlights the importance of brushing your teeth. It also encourages children to not be afraid of the dentist - which so many of them are. ( )

After seeing Grandpas broken tusk Wilbur decides to go to the dentist. The dentist fixed his problem and told him to brush his tusks twice a day. In the end Wilbur was glad he went to the dentist.
Personal Reaction:
I enjoyed reading this book about Wilbur the Walrus. It has great pictures of many Walrus'. It's fun to read and shows kids about hygiene.
Classroom Extension Ideas:
1. I would have the class learn how to properly brush their teeth, and teach
them the importance.
2. I would use this book when learning about walrus' or when we learn
about cold places on earth. ( )
