A Circle in the Fire and Other Stories is a collection of some of the finest of Flannery O'Connor's works. I won't try to review these stories here, as they have been reviewed in many other collections. A common theme in these stories is O'Connor's interest in the manifestation of grace at life's end, and how openness to grace can be the result of intense violence and brutality.

This edition by Folio Society stands out due to the fine introduction by C.E. Morgan, and the simple but effective illustrations by Deanna Staffo. If you do not already have the majority of O'Connor's short stories in your library, this is a well produced collection that would serve you well. ( )
