The second of Kirstein Weiss' Tea and Tarot Cozy Mystery series. I really love how Kristen Weiss mixes tea and baking mysteries with tarot cards and fortunes. I think this premise is quite unique and also, this particular story was also quite interesting to read. A lot more murders and dead bodies are involved in this one!

Abigail and her friend and shop co-owner, Hyperion, are in another grisly adventure with murders. This time around, Abigail's former boss, Razzzor, is in the middle of it all. There's wine involved in this one as well as more tea and tarot cards. This story also had me guessing who the main culprit was, though the ending where it was revealed read a little bit awkwardly as it felt rushed. The characters were still super interesting, and Hyperion and Abigail's friendship grows even more and provides a pretty solid foundation for a murder solving duo. I also liked how the relationship between Razzzor and Abigail was dealt with as in the first book, he was just a guy behind a computer screen that you never actually meet in person. The running gag for Hyperion is that he doesn't actually exist.

Needless to say, it was a lot of fun to read. I think the only room for improvement for this series would be the ending; as I said, it felt very rushed. Moreover, it seems like having a Grandfather and his lawyer best friend really helps Abigail out throughout the story, which is a bit too convenient. Perhaps establishing these characters even more would help.

It ends on a bombshell about Abigail's mom coming back to town, which will be solved in the next book. ( )
