One more kill, and she's free. But only if she doesn't fall in love first. Love destroys. Zaida has lived by that motto for centuries as a siren and the faerie queen's most lethal assassin. So, keeping things strictly professional with the sexy human she's working with on the FBI's paranormal task force shouldn't be a problem. Except it is. Former Army Ranger Zimm isn't a big fan of love either. Losing everything and everyone will do that to a guy. Keeping his hands off the badass, sword-happy siren who's helping him track down a murderous demon should be easy. But it isn't. If Zaida and Zimm have any hope of claiming their happily ever after, they'll have to catch a killer, outwit immortal royalty, and face off against an evil magical organization. And then there's the little matter of the last hit the queen has ordered Zaida to carry out in exchange for her freedom. The target? Zimm. Seems like everything's about to get supernaturally complicated.… (more)

Zaida is an immortal siren working with an off-the-books FBI super natural task force. She's unique and the faerie queen's assassin. Siren's aren't suppose to feel or love.

Matthew 'Zimm' Zimmerman is a former Army Ranger, and elite military sniper, now working for the FBI, protecting the four magical assets on his team. He's been attracted to Zaida from the moment he saw her rescue twelve children but after losing his wife and child he doesn't want to love again.

I really enjoyed getting to know Zaida and Zimm, both are lethal killers but when they love, they love fiercely. As they work together to find a killer, Zaida must find a way around the Queen's order to kill Zimm.

This was a great love story, wrapped in the super natural mysteries and dangers as they try to stop Revelare. Each story in this series gets better and better. Each book reveals more and more about their world the characters and the secrets they are keeping.

I didn't enjoy this book, I think because the character of the female lead isn't a type I particularly enjoy. Too caught up in her own melodrama and dysfunction, not clever or insightful, no sense of humor to speak of. It reminded me heavily of the Amanda Bouchet character that put Bouchet firmly on my don't-bother list.

People who like Bouchet would probably find this to be a half-weight equivalent. But this author just isn't for me.

This book was the third in a series by this author. Since it was new to me, I was a bit confused by which character was which in the first two chapters. As the story progressed, it focused on two of the characters and the abilities of each became clearer. I can see how the series will continue as the characters have some problems to solve with many complications along the way.

I haven't read the first two in this series but I still enjoyed this one very much. Very good ending to the book (not end of series yet) in my opinion. The Queens assassin Zaida is a unique individual-Siren and Banshee thanks to the Fairy Queen and her love of Zimm, a human makes for a good story. Her being included into the Witch family affected her a lot and gives her stability that she has lacked. Good read ( )

Killing Song the third book in The Legacy urban fantasy/romance series by Luna Joy. The earlier books centered on two of 4 powerful magical sisters. This novel includes the sisters, but focuses on two other members of their team: Zaida, a siren and assassin in the forced employ of a queen of Faerie, and Former Army Ranger Zimm. They are working with the witch sisters as part of a task force investigation murders with a supernatural component. When they start investigating the latest crime, they soon realize that a demon they have already encountered may be behind this death. Zaida has one more job to do for the Faerie queen before she will finally win her freedom. Unfortunately the target is the former Ranger that she is finding herself increasingly attracted to.
Each book in this series delves further into the supernatural world that the author is building. The first two books had somewhat more interesting mysteries to solve in addition to the adventure and romance. I also missed the elements of old Hollywood history in the earlier installments. Overall I enjoyed this addition to the series. Zaida was a fun character and the series continues to get better with each book. ( )
