I think this has been my favorite book in the Kit series so far. The Penny Pinching party and The Waste Not Want Not Almanac were great story lines. Aunt Millie was a fun addition to the cast of characters at the Kittridge home. These books have a nice moral message that is not too overbearing. ( )

Summary: Aunt Millie impresses Kit with her money-saving cleverness.
  hgcslibrary | Nov 29, 2009 |
kit knows that with all the boarding house chores, there's no time to plan a party for her tenth birthday.Besides, there's no money either, ever since dad still doesn't have a job. Kit knows she shouldn't even be thinking about a party.but it's ahrd not to hope. Then, when Aunt Millie shows up unexpectedly at the Kittredrige's front doo, kit finds new reason's to hope. Aunt Millie is always full of cheap ideas and kit loves having her there-until that is one of Aunt millies great idea's doesen't sound so googd to kit.
