-- Seventh Sister: A Fairy Tale by Alice Hoffman / Seventh Sister Capelet pattern by Lisa Hoffman - 3.5*
A fairy tale about the seventh sister who kept returning home after her sisters tried to lose her. The last time took the longest due to a spell her sisters bought. She was protected by many moths who kept her warm and taught her moth ways. LOL // Re-read in 2022 by accident. AH had it listed as one of her monthly fairy tales on her own website.
-- Intro to the jewelry by Ithuriell
So interesting, so talented! Each piece of jewelry comes with a back story. You can find her work on etsy.
-- Krampus by Jonathon Scott Fuqua - 3*
I don't understand enough about the lore but this boy/man has been protected by Krampus twice in his life, for some reason that is not clear to him or us.
-- Anne Rice Interview (The Return of the Brat Prince)
-- Things We Love: The Pressed Fairy Journal of Madeline Cottington
-----------------------------
Lisa Hoffman is Alice Hoffman's cousin. See here from Lisa Hoffman's website: http://www.lisahoffmanknits.com/about.html
I believe Alice does have 3 children but their last name is Martin.
Issue #37 is our special "naughty & nice" flip issue, with two covers -- a sweet snow queen and the Krampus -- and two magazines in one. We’ve devoted half of this special issue to niceness, from our cover spread on snow queens to our tutorial on rainbow correspondence (what could be nicer than hand writing wax-sealed letters to all your friends on paper you’ve made yourself?) to artist Kerli’s rebirth in the Estonian forest to Alice Hoffman’s fairy tale about a cape of wings. And we’ve devoted the other half to all that (irresistible) badness, from our Krampus stories to our naughty gift-giving guide to our interview with Anne Rice and look at the elegant, decadent Gala Nocturna.
