I loved the sassy Ruby Donovan who could kick tale and mother her toddler. She was a lot of things: a paramedic, a single mom, and a Legacy Witch and she didn't want the Senators title, but she needed to find a loophole fast, it was just her luck to run into the only man that she never wanted to see. Diego Benitas is a treasure hunter on the track of finding artifacts for a living and he has no interest in witch politics until he runs into Ruby again, but he was hoping on winning her back into his arms now that she is free. I wished that I had read the first books instead of the last as there must have been so much that I missed. ( )

I am not a big fun in romantic story, but this book is fascinating! The charming of the heroine is so attractive that no one could reject her! I recommend this book to those who enjoy light novels. Great choice for a leisure time on a sunshine beach or on the airplane. ( )

Heart and Seek is the fourth book in the Legacy paranormal romance series by Luna Joy. Ruby Donovan is the eldest of the Donavan sisters; hereditary Legacy witches with elemental powers. As the eldest, Ruby is expected to join to take her place as an heir to the Senate. All she wants to do is work as a paramedic and raise her toddler daughter. She hopes to find a loophole that will let her keep her freedom from witch politics. Diego Benitas is a treasure hunter with a talent for finding things. He is also a man from Ruby’s past. While avoiding powerful Senate witches and a dangerous cult led by a demon, they try to find an answer for Ruby and a possible future together.

The first couple of books in the Legacy witch series were more mystery/adventures with less emphasis on the world and politics of the witches. I enjoyed the use of the setting of Los Angeles and the mysteries involving old Hollywood. The last book, and this one, involve more of the paranormal aspects of the author’s world building. I liked that the author is beginning to fill in more of the society of the witches: it clarified things I found confusing in the earlier books. I did miss the mystery element, however.

I would recommend reading the earlier books in the series in order to fully enjoy this one. There is some sexual content, but not excessive. ( )
