This was a fun, quick read and the final battle was fun. But I feel like I enjoyed the first two books more. She continued to repeat many things in the book, like clues to a puzzle or sentiments. Maybe this is okay, because it is a mystery and Avery was trying to figure it however, it felt like some stuff was spoon fed to us like how to interpret an obvious facial expression or threat. For example, the bad guy says "... I wonder?" and Avery thinks "He expects me to wonder about it" (not exact quotes), but it was obvious that's what he meant, he was described as being a typical kind of villain. ( )

Fitting ending to a great trilogy. Kids at my library can't read this fast enough. Lots of twists and turns in the plot where Avery risks everything - her fortune and her relationships - to try and find out who is behind the sinister kidnapping and subsequent threatening puzzles that start to bombard the Hawthorne family and turn their household into a literal fortress. I like how she gets the "enemy" to use social media against Avery so that every time she leave s the house with a different brother, the socials scream that she is playing one off against the other - that rings very true in today's society. Sometimes interesting but mostly just unhinged, and not really in a good way. ( )

Third book in the series stays just as strong with twists and turns as the other two. Avery and the Hawthorne brothers are back. A girl shows up at Hawthorne House who looks just like Emily and claims to be Toby's daughter. What? Turns out the old man has one final game in store for Avery and a new Big Bad enters the scene. A satisfying end to Avery's trial year to inheriting the Hawthorne billions. ( )

Avery Kylie Grambs is set to inherit billions from Tobias Hawthorne who disinherited his other heirs for her. She doesn't know why, but she knows that he left lots of puzzles for her and for his grandsons to solve to figure it all out.

This last puzzle might be the one they can't solve, and they are all drawn into a game with some other unknown and dangerous player. This player has kidnapped Toby and sent Toby's daughter Eve to them to cause havoc.

More puzzles are solved. More secrets are unearthed. And it is ultimately up to Avery if things are going to turn out well.

I loved all the puzzles. I loved the relationships between Avery and the four Hawthorne grandsons. This was an excellent thriller with a very satisfying ending. ( )
