Despite its varied references in the back, it feels a little too focused on one particular genre of American animal cartoons and fills up too much of the book with the sample characters and setting.

I'd have preferred a more generic book on running numerous types of cartoon games with advice rather than stats. (Plus: adding Scratch Points, which amounts to yet another pool of points to keep track of? Ugh.)

In the end, I wanted to like it far more than I did. ( )
