Despite a lack of Latin names (which is a bit stunning, even for an entry-level guide book), this is a useful little tome that helps one to get a broader perspective on flowering plants of the U.S. without getting too caught up in minutiae. A simplistic map for each genus shows its range acrtoss the entire U.S. without focusing on which species live where.

From childhood, this sweet little handbook still is a useful and practical, easy-to-use guide to flowers.. ( )

Check my review on "Birds." Until I get to Heaven and know every flower's name, I will continue to collect books like these to help me here below. I wish I had met Herbert Zim. I love his books.
