Despite the quality of the writing and the pacy language, these stories could not overcome their rather commonplace plots. Aged nine, and coming to these ideas for the first time, I would have been hugely impressed. As a jaded adult, however, I was disappointed. (

3 short horror stories – Scared, a Career in computer games and Howard’s End. The best one is Howard’s end about a kid who lives a “bad” life and lies his way into heaven and suffers the consequences!p.68-72 up to “He was in”. (
