Quatrième et dernier tome de la tétralogie Malhorne, voici la fin de ce thriller historico-mystique, écrit à l’anglo-saxonne mais bien de chez nous au demeurant. Enfin le dénouement de cette grande fresque multiforme mettant en scène la compétition millénaire entre Sapiens et Néanderthal sur fond de bons sentiments environnementalistes. Les personnages de la saga vont avoir la possibilité de faire table rase de la civilisation décadente et de prendre un nouveau départ sur une Terre vierge.
Après deux tomes médiocres, l’auteur se retrousse les manches et pond un roman digne des ambitions affichées. On retrouve une intrigue intéressante et des personnages à la hauteur d’un dernier acte. Je garde les réserves sur l’écriture un peu gauche et le gloubi-goulba humanisto-moralisateur infligé sur des milliers de pages. ( )
