This book follows the story of a mama and papa "rockfish," who are giving their son Adri lessons on life while swimming around in the deep blue sea. This is a good book because the illustrations show that each "rockfish" is different from one another, it gives them animation and voices, and it applies to real fish, but they are painted rocks that are "fish" in the story.
Illustrations: Rock painting, watercolor and acrylic paintings (what it looks like)
Genre: Fantasy
Age Appropriateness: Primary

Another great read to help kids appreciate their differences in a world that makes them feel left out. ( )

In Only One You, the picture book is filled with a lot of bright colors and kept me entertained while reading the book. In the book, the parents are teaching their young son that their is only one of him. He needs to try to make the big world a better place. The parents try to give him so advice and wisdom on their experience to hopefully help him a guide as he grows up and ventures out. There is only one of you in the world and you need to make a difference in the world. I thought this book was a very good read as a teacher. We want the kids to understand their is only one of them and each of them are special and can do anything they set their mind too. They can go and change the world with some encouragement and wisdom given to them from parents or educators.

Only One You by Linda Kranz is an early reader. Rating this book, I would give it a five star. This book is a great book for new readers and young children to learn about themselves and who they are. This book talks about making a better place in the world and gives advise from a parent’s perspective. Their words our very simple yet still powerful and meaningful. I thought this book was really good. I think that every child could benefit from this book. I also think that this is a great motivation book for all young girls and boys to learn that it’s important to be yourself, because there are only one you. The illustrations throughout this book are very bright and colorful. It shows that the information that is being provided is important and informational for all the children who read this book. In the classroom this book would be a great thing to use to be able to let children know about themselves and have high self-esteem. I think it’s important for young children to learn these things especially at a young age. ( )
