This is a great book to talk about diversity in the classroom. Is about parents (fish) that are swimming around the ocean to teach their child about the uniqueness of others and himself. I think is a great way of introducing self-love and uniqueness in the classroom and to teach about respect no matter how we look in the outside. I really loved this book, I would recommend to all young children. The illustrations are also fantastic! ( )

This beautifully illustrated book teaches children about uniqueness and appreciating the world around you. There are some great life lessons in this book that could create wonderful discussion one on one with your child or in a whole group classroom setting. ( )

Adri is ready to go out into the world and Mama and Papa feel it is time to share some words of wisdom. Readers of all ages can relate to the advise given by Papa to Adri about individualism and being a good person. The author uses realistic pictures of the ocean in addition to colorful painted rockfish to create interest. This book is in English and Spanish so it can be used in Language arts to teach similarities and differences in languages. This book can also be used to teach art concepts, as well as teaching science like the behaviors of fish. ( )

Little Adri is a fish about to go out into the world, before he can go though his parents want to pass on some wisdom. They teach him lessons in individuality, acceptance, being a friend, and overall focus on using who you are and what you have to make the world a better place. This book is illustrated with painted rock fish that swim across the page full of color and pattern. ( )
