An easy read, though unusual mixture or paranormal beings who play roller derby! I was left confused at times about shifter Chase and what member of the feline family he shifted into, maybe because the author was trying to hard to vary her writing. I also felt the story could have been strengthened with exploring Dottie’s adjustment to being reborn, this was a PTSD event which wasn’t addressed in any great depth. ( )

This book is a really great start to a series. The plot is very interesting and also original. I love the concept of a city safe for humans, protected by paranormals, that also involves roller derby! Dottie is a strong heroine who definitely learns a lot about herself and really comes into her own. I like that she didn’t immediately forgive Chase and tried to work on herself first. Even though the plot was very original, the storyline was too predictable. I knew who the killer was immediately and that took away a lot of the suspense for me. Kiva and Sadie stole the spotlight a little and I would love to read more of their stories! A great start and easy read. I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a free copy. ( )
