Eventually he learns how to whistle to call his dog back. willie is trying his hardest to learn how to whistle he's been practicing for a long time. He later finds out that if he continues to try and not give up he can learn how to whistle. This is a book about a boy named Peter who is determined to learn how to whistle, for his dog Willie.
