A delightful children's book that follows the lives of gnomes through the seasons and various special gnomish events! For a child that is fascinated by the thought of these creatures, this book is a must! The earthy toned illustrations are fitting and filled with mushrooms and cuteness. ( )

This was a really sweet advanced picture book. I think it's too long to read in one sitting for younger children but would be great for elementary students or as a nightly read aloud. The illustrations were unique in that they looked like something you would find in an older book, which I liked. They were not overly bright and fit into the woody theme. I would have liked the book to be either more of a story or more of an encyclopedia. This book was kind of in between, but still enjoyable. 3.5 stars. ( )
