( ) Not as good as I had been led to believe, and perhaps overlong, this nevertheless looks at the life and times of Elizabeth Barrett Browning through the perspective of her dog, Flush. Some bits are fantastic, others are boring, but certainly I admire and understand Barrett far more now for reading this! It is also nice to see that there were people in the 1940s and indeed 1840s who understood that dogs have emotions! no reviews | add a review

This story of Elizabeth Barrett Browning's cocker spaniel, Flush, enchants right from the opening pages. Although Flush has adventures of his own with bullying dogs, horrid maids, and robbers, he also provides the reader with a glimpse into Browning's life. Introduction by Trekkie Ritchie.
