Book description
Europa wordt verscheurd door de Eerste Wereldoorlog en de wereld die Helen, Maia en Robin als kinderen hebben gekend, is voorgoed voorbij. De drie hartsvriendinnen groeien samen op het Engelse platteland op, vertellen elkaar geheimen in het winterhuis aan de waterkant en zijn ervan overtuigd dat hun vriendschap tegen alles bestand zal zijn en hun hele leven zal duren. Opgroeien betekent echter ook uit elkaar groeien, maar ondanks al het verdriet en de vreugde die het leven voor hen in petto heeft, blijft hun vriendschap intact.
