Daniel Arenson's first novel shows the promise of youth. The locations that make up the story and the plot outline are top notch. The character's actions, although fabulously detailed, are questionable and the actual story telling is sometimes juvenile. Compared to the masters of the Epic Fantasy, Arenson has a ways to go, but in this book there is the trappings of a writer who can become prolific. ( )
