The Gingerbread Man is a classic tale about an ornery gingerbread man that relishes in his escape from the oven. Unfortunately, his escape comes to an end by the acts of a sly fox. This story stays true to the lighthearted nature of a gingerbread man and the sly intentions of a fox in traditional literature. The story includes the rhythm and repetition of the "you can't catch me..." phrase, which is engaging for children to follow along. ( )

This book is the story of the riddle of the Gingerbread man and how he out ran everyone in the town- that is until he met the Fox.
