My 7 year old granddaughter gave this to me. I have the feeling that she did not herself read it, and I'm glad if she hasn't. The story is romantically charged - a 16 year old girl involved with a boyfriend about the same age; they love to be in each other's arms, etc. The story's premise is based on lying to her parents and the heroine has a lot of angst about that, but nonetheless. Her best friend seems overbearing and dismissive. There is a lot of simply rude behavior. The emotions seemed stilted, every one of them - rage, delight, fear, love. To top it all off: the story is boring. Pg. 205 and I am giving up.

reading notes: p.79, inappropriate emotion, p.87 stilted language, p.89 more lying p. 112 medium is the real deal p. 114 "16 is wild" p.116 sarcasm p.146 just plain rude modeling of parental interaction p.206 not going to get better here. ( )

In this volume of the Faerie Path, Tania's mortal parents forbid her and Edric from seeing each other and give Tania a curfew. This puts a huge damper on their ability to search for Queen Titania. As the story progresses Tania finds out who Titania is but can't reach her; additionally Tania seems unable to get back to faerie. This book comes across as basically a set up novel. Even though they do find Titania it feels like it is mainly to help the plot of the next novel. ( )
