An exciting, short adventure with fictional character Amos Trumbull, delivering a message from John Hancock in Boston to Thomas Jefferson at Monticello. The book explores the route and various modes of transportation in use in Colonial America. This edition had nice black and white illustrations on every page. I think a map of the route would enhance this story, especially for young readers just learning geography. ( )
