This was my introduction to Patrick Senécal after seeing his books everywhere in the hands of commuters in the Métro. Not sure what I expected when I picked this up at the library, but in the end I was disappointed. The plot was contrived, and characters had little depth. I found myself constantly annoyed by how weak-willed main character Yannick Bérubé was. It didn't help that I had just finished reading some Cormac Mccarthy ... On the other hand, it really is an easy read; I can see why so many people would read it to pass the time while commuting. ( )
