To begin, this book showed me just how many of the Twilight Zone episodes that I HAVEN'T seen! I gotta catch up! Overall, this collection is good, and probably a must read if you are a fan of the show. There are over a half dozen stories by Richard Matheson and one by Ray Bradbury, so they make it worth it all on their own! (I also liked the tales by Charles Beaumont!) It was interesting to me to see the differences between the stories and the episodes themselves! One of my all-time favorite TZ episodes, "Time Enough At Last", was not so good on the written page. And yet, "It's a Good Life" was so much better to read than to watch! And as for twists, I loved the endings of "The Self-Improvement of Salvadore Ross", "Long Distance Call", and, of course, "To Serve Man"! There are enough good tales to make this a good read! 'Nuff said! ( )

A fascinating collection. This contains some of my favorite "episodes;" "Number 22 Looks Just Like You," "Time Enough at Last," as well as a few others I love. ( )

Above average collection of sci-fi and fantasy short stories. I never did like the Twilight Zone tv show; it always seemed preachy to me.

Book description
For five seasons, in episode after episode, The Twilight Zone showcased the very best in fantasy and suspense, keeping television viewers on the edge of their seats with its powerful combination of strong story line and direction. The series creator and inimitable master of ceremonies, Rod Serling, was honored by many a copycat, but no show since has surpassed its captivating appeal. This volume contains the original stories that inspired some of the most celebrated episodes. Inventive tales by such masters as Richard Matheson, Charles Beaumont, Ray Bradbury, Damon Knight, and others provide thrills, terror, wonder, and great fun in 560 chilling pages.
