Nancy Spain writes about the section of her life spent in the W.R.N.S. during the Second World War. It is told in the generally light-hearted fashion that we have come to expect of her. She starts the book with her experiences upon joining the fledgeling service and ends with her becoming a somewhat unwilling officer.
As with all three volumes of her autobiography this makes for a very readable trilogy and considering her unfortunate death in an air-crash,rather sad too. ( )
