This was more of a family story than a romance. It involved the two families of man. The families had never met because of all the pain involved in the breakup of the first family by the second woman. Then the youngest daughter needs a kidney transplant and they all meet. There is a lot of delving into hurt feelings and such. Eventually the older girl from the first family marries the stepson of the her father's second family. So there is a romance but it is hardly the main focus of the story. Interesting plot and well written. The kidney disease was explained and dealt with in a true manner I believe. A nice read but nothing stellar. ( )

Now this one was good. Good characters, with solid motivations, reasonable reasons for their various lies and evasions, and a nice, complicated happy ending - not the obvious deus ex machina but a bigger story. Like it, I'll be looking for more from her. Now, it's still just a romance...but one of the good ones.
Reread - still mildly interesting (and I remembered some of it, not all), but I really stalled out in the middle, not sure why, and it took me ages to finish. I'll try it again, sometime. ( )
