Covers the author's life as a young child and through boarding school, as he gets into increasingly serious trouble and falls in love for the first time. Explains how he went to prison and what that was like. ( )

Fry's tangents and monologues are very charming when he speaks, less charming in the written form.

Stephen Fry is totally honest and open about the journey that led to the making of Stephen Fry, I think this book could only have been delivered at the point it was, once he was already established as something of a "national treasure." In a strange way it is a story of every adolesent, the event and the surroundings may be differnt for each but the emotions are universal to varying degrees. ( )

It was interesting to read Stephen's take on his junior years. It's amazing that given his disfunctional start he has managed a very successful career and life. ( )

Definitely more of a tell-all, this was interesting to read after reading his more recent autobiography. I liked The Fry Chronicles a little more, but both are great reads for Stephen Fry fans. ( )

dieser Lebenslauf dient dem Autor als roter Faden, um in schnoddrigem Ton mit den Klischees vom britischen Nationalcharakter, von Homosexualität und psychoanalytischen Deutungsmustern aufzuräumen.
